Threaded Rod for Containment and Supports
Drop rods for containment
Threaded rod is the standard way to hang containment from a ceiling. It goes into an anchor in the soffit and carries strut, trapeze brackets or hangers at the height you need. Because it is threaded all the way along, you can set the level precisely with nuts and adjust it if the run needs to rise or fall. Electricians use it for wire basket, cable tray, trunking and suspended light fittings in commercial units, warehouses and plant rooms, and it is quick to cut down to whatever drop the job calls for.
M8 or M10
Our Metpro rod comes in M8 (TR8) and M10 (TR10), each in 3m lengths. M8 is commonly used for lighter runs and fittings, while M10 is chosen where a heavier load is expected. Always match the rod, anchor and spacing to the load and the manufacturer's guidance for the containment you are hanging. A 3m length can be cut into several drops, so you rarely waste much. Keep nuts, washers and a decent cutting disc on hand to finish the job.

Rod and fixings from one counter
Moss Electrical has been supplying electricians and contractors from Bridgend for over 30 years. The listings here show live stock and pricing from that branch, so you can check the number of lengths available before you load up. If you need a bigger quantity for a commercial project, give the counter a call on 01656 765300 and we will let you know what we can do. Rod is awkward to carry in small vans, so checking the figure first saves a wasted trip.
We stock far more at the counter than we list online. Call the Bridgend team and we'll source it.
