Home EV charger installs are now regular work for a lot of electricians. The Project EV APEX-7S 7.3kW charger is listed in two versions. The tethered unit has a fixed cable, so the driver simply plugs the car in. The untethered socket version leaves the cable with the driver, which gives a tidier look on the wall when nothing is plugged in. Ask the customer how they use the car before choosing. Before fitting, the usual checks on the supply, earthing arrangement and available capacity all apply, so survey first and order second.

Air source hot water cylinders

The Project CÜRV cylinders in this section are made for air source heat pump systems, which is what ASHP stands for in the product names. Sizes listed run from 80 litres through 110, 150 and 200 litres up to 250 litres, so you can match the cylinder to the household. Sizing usually comes down to the number of people living there, the number of bathrooms and how hot water gets used day to day. Electricians often work alongside heating engineers on these jobs, handling the supply and controls wiring.
