The ALL LED Swift

The Swift is a compact under cabinet light that runs at mains voltage, so there is no separate driver to find space for. It has selectable colour temperature, letting you match it to the downlights in the rest of the kitchen. The satin nickel finish suits metal handles and appliances, and polar white disappears under white or light coloured units. Mains fittings also make wiring simpler on a kitchen refit, as there is no low voltage gear to hide. It is a neat solution where a client wants task light without the fuss of strip and drivers.

Planning the install

Work out where the switch or fused spur will be and how the cable will reach each fitting before the kitchen fitters close up the units. Spacing fittings evenly along the run gives a better spread of light across the worktop. Check the listing for fixing and connection details, and agree the colour temperature with the client before you fit. Fixing the fittings towards the front edge of the cabinet gives better light on the worktop and less glare. Check that the fittings will sit clear of any pelmet or light rail the kitchen fitter is adding. Leave enough cable to make connections without straining the fitting.
