Woodscrews for fixing boxes and fittings

Pozi countersunk twinthread woodscrews are the workhorse for fixing back boxes, trunking, clips and fittings into timber and plugged masonry. Our range runs in gauge 8 from 3/4 inch up to 3 inch, all bright zinc plated (BZP). Twinthread screws drive quickly and grip well, which helps when you are working through a stack of boxes on first fix. Having a spread of lengths in the van means you can deal with deeper boxes, thicker battens and uneven walls without improvising.

Machine screws for accessories

M3.5 steel machine screws are the standard size for fixing switches and sockets into back boxes, and we stock them in lengths including 35mm, 40mm, 75mm and 100mm, in packs of 100. Longer screws are useful when a box sits deep behind tiles or a dry lining. The brass M4 pan head slot screws in 12mm and 16mm cover earth terminals and other fixings where brass is preferred. Replacing chewed or short accessory screws is a quick win that makes a second fix go a lot smoother.
