Upgrading old 2D fittings

Plenty of older bulkheads and ceiling fittings in stairwells, corridors and bathrooms still run 2D lamps. Rather than replacing the whole fitting, an LED DD lamp lets you upgrade what is already there. The Kosnic DD 2 Mini has selectable wattage and a choice of colour temperatures on the lamp, so one product can cover a range of fittings and finishes on a maintenance round. It also avoids disturbing ceilings, decorations and fixings, which is often what makes a full replacement more expensive than it looks. For landlords and facilities teams, that is a quick win on running costs.

2 pin or 4 pin

The main thing to check is the base. The DD 2 Mini comes as a 2 pin and a 4 pin version, so look at the lamp you are taking out, or the gear in the fitting, before you order. Getting this right first time saves a second trip. If you manage a block of flats or a commercial building, it is worth standardising on one lamp so spares are easy. Selectable colour temperature also helps on maintenance work, as you can match the colour of the fittings around it without carrying several versions. Set it before you fit, as it is awkward to change once the diffuser is back on.
