Lighting sensors for adding motion and daylight control to fittings. We stock 2 plug-in microwave sensors from Kosnic, the Hontza and the Lulu, both combining motion and daylight detection. Live stock and prices come straight from our Bridgend branch.
Kosnic Microwave Motion and Daylight Sensors
Plug-in sensors
The Kosnic Hontza and Lulu are plug-in sensors, built to add control to compatible Kosnic fittings without a separate detector on the ceiling. Microwave sensing can pick up movement through a diffuser, so the sensor can sit inside or on the fitting. Combined with daylight detection, the light only comes on when it is both dark enough and someone is there. They also keep the ceiling clear of extra detectors, which gives a neater finish in areas where appearance matters. Fitting the sensor at the same time as the luminaire saves a separate visit later on.
Picking the right one
The Lulu is a 12V DC version, while the Hontza is listed separately, so check which fittings each one is designed for before you order. These sensors are a good way to cut energy use in stairwells, corridors and outbuildings, where lights are only needed for short periods. Read the listing for compatibility and setup details. Setup varies between sensors, so leave time on site to adjust the settings once the fitting is up. A few minutes spent on detection range and daylight level saves complaints that the light comes on at the wrong time. It is worth explaining the behaviour to the client before you leave.

Help from the counter
Matching a sensor to a fitting can be fiddly. The team at Moss Electrical in Bridgend has been helping electricians with lighting control since 1992. Stock is live on this page, and if you are unsure which Kosnic sensor suits your fitting, call 01656 765300. If you can tell us the fitting code, we can usually confirm whether either sensor will work with it. The counter also stocks the Kosnic fittings these sensors pair with, so you can sort both at once. That way you are not stuck on site with a sensor that does not fit.
We stock far more at the counter than we list online. Call the Bridgend team and we'll source it.
