Mini trunking for smaller runs

Mini trunking is the quick answer when cables need to run on the surface and chasing is not practical. It is widely used for adding sockets and switches, tidying cables in rented properties and running circuits along skirting or ceilings. Marshall Tufflex MMT trunking comes in 16mm x 16mm, 25mm x 16mm, 38mm x 16mm and 38mm x 25mm, all in white. Several sizes are available in self adhesive versions, marked SF in the code, which speeds things up on smooth surfaces. Pick the size by how many cables you need to carry and how discreet you want the run to look.

Maxi trunking for larger installations

When the cable count goes up, maxi trunking takes over. The MTRS range here covers 100mm x 50mm, 100mm x 100mm and 150mm x 150mm, all in 3m lengths and white. Maxi trunking is used in plant rooms, workshops, schools and commercial spaces where several circuits need to run together and stay accessible. The removable lid makes it straightforward to add or replace cables later, and with outlet boxes fitted you can mount accessories directly on the run. It gives a neat, robust route for large numbers of cables without the need for heavier containment.
