Cable Glands

Cable Glands for Armoured Cable

BW and CW gland packs

The Deligo gland packs here come in two types, BW and CW. BW glands are the common choice for indoor terminations of SWA cable, while CW glands add an outer seal for outdoor and damp locations. Sizes listed run through 20mm small, 20mm, 25mm, 32mm, 40mm, 50mm, 63mm and 75mm. Smaller sizes come in packs of two, and the larger sizes from 40mm upwards come as single packs. Check the cable's overall diameter against the gland size before ordering, as the right fit makes all the difference.

Getting a good termination

A gland does more than hold the cable in place. On SWA it clamps the armour, and on outdoor or exposed runs it also keeps water and dust out of the enclosure. Fit the gland body to the enclosure securely, and use a shroud where the job calls for extra protection. Where the armour forms part of the earth path, make sure the connection back to the protective conductor is sound and tested. Taking time over terminations is one of the simplest ways to avoid call backs later on.
