PVC Capping for Chased Cable Runs

What capping does

When cable runs are buried in a wall, capping sits over them in the chase to give a layer of protection before the plasterer goes over the top. It helps stop trowels and fixings catching the cable sheath, and it keeps the run neat and straight down to the back box. It is standard practice on first fix in new builds, extensions and rewires where cables are chased into brick or block. A length of capping takes moments to fit with a couple of nails or clout fixings, and it saves a lot of hassle if something goes wrong after plastering is done.

The ECC23 from Marshall Tufflex is a 38mm wide capping in 2m lengths, which gives you enough width to cover a single run or a pair of cables lying side by side in the chase. Two metre lengths are easy to carry and cut, and they suit typical floor to switch or ceiling to socket drops in domestic work.
