Building a perimeter run

Perimeter trunking runs around the walls of a room at desk or skirting height and carries power and data to where people work. It is a familiar sight in offices, schools and surgeries because it keeps cables tidy and makes it easy to add outlets later. The MK Prestige system is built up from parts. The VP180 main carrier fixes to the wall and holds the cables, then straight or curved covers clip over the front. Internal and external corners handle changes of direction, and the end cap finishes the run neatly.

Boxes for sockets and data

Outlets on a perimeter run are mounted in boxes that sit on the trunking. This range includes 1 gang and 2 gang boxes, with 45mm versions in the VP121 and VP122 and further 1 and 2 gang options in the VP131 and VP132. Choosing the right box depends on the accessories you are fitting and the depth you need behind them. Because each part has its own code, it is easy to build a parts list for a room by counting outlets, corners and lengths, then ordering exactly what the job needs rather than guessing.
