Cable Accessories: All Round Banding Strap

What banding strap is for

All round banding strap is a flexible strap that wraps around a cable, pipe or bundle and is fixed back to a surface, holding everything in place where a set clip size won't suit. Electricians use it for supporting runs in lofts, under floors and in voids, and for securing awkward items that don't fit a standard fixing. The Deligo BANDAR12 is 12mm wide and comes in a 10 metre length in black, so one roll goes a long way across several jobs. Cut what you need and keep the rest in the van.

Using it alongside other fixings

Banding strap works best as one part of a wider fixing kit. Cable ties are quicker for bundling cables to each other, cable clips are neater for single runs along a joist or wall, and cleats are made for larger cables on tray and strut. Banding strap fills the gaps between those, especially where you need to secure something irregular or support a cable across a short gap. It is one of those items that gets used far more often than you expect once it is on the van.
